If I hadn't gotten this far before realizing what a bad idea it was, I might have dropped NaNo this year. Now that I'm 3/5 of the way through I feel like the remaining effort isn't so bad and finishing will be worth it. But I seriously thought about it, and your post in particular inspired me. Go you!

Thanks! :-) I am of course behind again. Oh well - one of the things I'm learning is I get a lot more done on the weekends I'm supposedly "completely unavailable" (out of town for a square dance event) than on the weekends I have "free" (which turn out to be 100% booked). So I won't beat myself up for falling behind this weekend, because I can make it up when I'm in LA the weekend after Thanksgiving.
