Four today, as before -- no letting one foot off easy like last week.

Doc says yes, the inflammation is because we're squirting stuff in there that's designed to do damage. The nerve is the most sensitive to it, so it'll die, and everything else just goes nuts for a while healing itself back up. He says it's a full month past the last injection before the doctor and patient can evaluate how effective this treatment is. (Since pain is the only useful factor in that evaluation, the translation here is: My feet are expected to hurt until approximately the New Year.)

Cool fact of the day: My skin is responding to the sclerosing (hardening) agent. It's getting a lot tougher to get the needle in. This effect is expected to go away with time. I also do not bleed afterwards like I used to. Weeeird. I have zombie feet.

He didn't take pictures of my facial expressions as he had threatened to do last week. Since as of today the injections are perceptibly less painful, I told him he better take photos next week or he'll lose his chance.

Geeze, this just sounds so awful!! I mean, yeah, it'll (in theory) cure the original nerve pain, but dang, woman...that's gotta hurt!

As an involuntary connoisseur of pain, I gotta tell ya, you're a rock!

Here's a pile of positive, healing energy coming your way so it really does take care of the problem and you won't hurt like this until the new year. Gentle hugs!

It's really not THAT awful. The treatment hurts a lot during each injection, yeah, but even four of 'em are over quickly, leaving only the inflammation-pain for the rest of the week. I'd be griping a lot more about that part except that all this might fix my feet! I might be able to run again! Hike! Backpack! My mind clings to those positive dreams, and that is worth a whole lot. :-)

I too am an involuntary connoisseur of pain -- you have a big pile of empathy from over here. :-( I wish my other pain, and all of yours, were so easily fixed as this. *sigh*

I have zombie feet.

Do they go around after dark moaning loudy, "Socks! Sooooocccckksss!"? ;-)

BWAHAHAHAHAAA! I was trying to think what zombie feet would want. You crack me up. Socks, yeah, that works!

My work here is done. :-)
