Now that I've got your attention :-)

Why the @#$! can't anyone make a decent sports bra for someone who has more chest than Julia Roberts? HELLO. Us larger types need MORE support up top, not less. No, mashing everything together so that ALL the skin on the torso jiggles wildly up and down does not make the grade. Anything requiring dislocation of the shoulder joint in order to put it on does not count either. And if ya have to ask, I must admit that it would be ideal if it wasn't painful to wear.

When I hit the lotto jackpot I'm gonna buy one of everything Title 9 has. Maybe they have something good, but fitting a bra by mail-order is a recipe for disaster.

Let me know if you find anything! I'm in the market for "well-endowed" support, too. I HATE the "let's just mash it all together" type of so-called sports bra. I wear a minimizer bra for biking/walking/weights, and that's not bad, but gawd forbid I try to jog or jump or hop or any such thing. Hideous, just hideous, I tell ya!

Yeah, try tap-dancing--I have yet to find a decent sports bra that will keep me relatively in place during tap class. One of the members of the tap company resorted to duct-taping her boobs in place for the show last year.

I did something similar once, not with duct tape but with some kind of bandagey sticky-tape. Unfortunately, I appeared to be allergic to it ...!

Oops. :-)

Yeah! Do you get that burning sensation across your upper chest, like the perforated line just below your shoulders is about to give? Or do you get the poundy thuddy ache behind the tits? I am heartily sick of both of these.

I gotta wonder why breast reduction surgery is not widely acclaimed as a good fitness move. I can't be the only woman with this complaint.

I’ve heard good things said in this connection about Decent Exposures.  My daughter (who’s a 38D) is intending to give them a try fairly soon.

Sounds cool. Now if only I didn't have to fit it by mail-order...

Maybe I should just bite the bullet and find a seamstress who'll do custom work.

Bra fitting is such a peril, even at my current size, that I just shrug and wear the Danskin spandex "athletic" bra all the time. Once I get into the normally-available sizes, perhaps I'll revisit this.

Is it comfy?

Hopefully your ribcage circumference won't get too small w.r.t. your tits. Finding a 28D bra is a serious pain in the butt.

I find it tolerably comfy for ordinary living (it is a "mash you together" style, fair warning), but as far as holding things together for bumpy sports like riding -- hah. And again I say, hah.

Duct tape, or surgical removal. Haven't decided which is preferable.

Yeah. If I could be guaranteed that surgical removal wouldn't leave scars and wouldn't increase my risk of, say, breast cancer in the future, I'd do it. I've wanted to for ten years. That's a long time to put up with a problem.

Last fall I finally got my wisdom teeth removed, after wanting to for years and years. It's one of the best things I ever did for myself. I don't chew my face up any more! I wish I had done it when I was a teenager. Maybe I would look back on breast reduction surgery the same way: wishing I'd done it far earlier.

If it helps any, the bras available for less-than-34B are all appalling, too. I can't have support (obviously I don't need it with such tiny tits) and I can't have cleavage (nothing to make it from). I have found that duct-tape works, though. On both counts. Removing it . . .

I keep hearing rumours of people who make "bras for real women" but I've so far always found that they don't cater for the large or small extremes of the scale. But I'm glad I'm on the small extreme; armpit-muscle-ache is bad enough without real weight to support.

Yeah, I hear ya. I've lost all willingness to believe claims like "we make clothing to fit real women". I don't know which real women they're looking at, 'cause none of 'em ever fit me. I've gotten tired of wasting my time.

Duct tape, hmm? The fact it grips the skin solidly has got to be the clue here. Maybe I could craft a bra for myself and line it with rubber. (snicker)

Real women don't exist.

Rubber, hmm? I guess I must sweat more than you do... I think the answer is glue...

Maybe you really do need to find a seamstress, or start wearing a boned bodice with cups. You could take pictures :)

Rubber cement, then? ;-)

I was thinking of those extremely-stretchy rubber dresses. They are too tight to move much. If molded correctly, a bra made like that could be comfy and even attractive. They're way too hard to get into, though, so some way to open it / get in / attach it back up again would have to be found... which doesn't sound easy...

If I find someone to make a lovely boned garment with cups, I'd be tempted to wear it everywhere! 8-) (I can imagine some coworkers boggling. hee!)

Umm...I was just wondering...is your company hiring?
Wednesday, January 9th, 2002 06:03 pm (UTC)
You can come on board early and help us work out the rest of the dress code.

Maybe I should buy those chaps first :-)
