What CJ Wants for Christmas

When I write to Santa, I will be asking for a Grand Canyon calendar for 2005 (images here), in part to help inspire me to go do that hike next fall or so.

I suppose I'd also like three tiny little machine screws for a hand-me-down digital camera. It was free, but as with all free things, there is a nonmonetary cost. :-)

I would like to do that hike. I tend to buy calendars with an emotion or at least a thought attached: Yosemite = calm beauty, aircraft = a goal I'm working toward, kittens = why life's worth living, Grand Canyon = another goal.

Yeah, after seeing the place now (this was my first visit ever), I'd love to do a rim-to-rim hike someday.

Yellowstone is still my favorite US National Park, but Grand Canyon earned a lot of points from my first visit, as Yosemite did a couple of years ago.
