I'm somewhat afraid of heights. I can handle them if I'm going fast (amusement park rides such as roller coasters, and on airplanes) or if I get the sense I'm very secure (behind glass, airplanes) but not if I'm going slowly (ferris wheels are scary!) or if I don't feel secure (high balconies with railings below my waist level) and every so often, a picture twigs me "ack I'm going to fall!" reflex.
I saw it before I parsed its title/caption, and I thought "Who would leave delicate solar panels sticking up like that when THE EYE OF THE HURRICANE is directly overhead?" Then I realized something wasn't quite right with the photo (gee, awfully clear air without any rain in it) and then it all clicked.
I thought the solar panels were tall buildings when I first saw the picture. It all makes sense now that I've read the credit caption that photo was taken from the International Space Station (http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station/).
