Y'know that T-shirt? "I can only please one person at a time. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good either."

I've decided today is Monday, despite what the calendar insists.

1) Complete absolute thorough search of entire contents of paper mound atop desk at home. No prescription.
2) Barely make it to work on time. Boring meeting -- except for the moment when boss points at Microsoft Project on-screen and says, in effect, "CJ has a snowball's chance in hell of finishing in time for this release".
3) Thorough search of office, since that's where I usually wind up after medical appointments. No prescription.
4) Call doctor. Yes, they can phone it in.
5) 20-minute search for my pharmacy. It's two skips from my house and I see it frequently, but neither Yahoo yellow pages nor Long's store locator knows it exists. Just at the point I am believing myself crazy for having imagined this largish building in lifelike detail, finally find its information in paper phone book.
6) Call doctor back with pharmacy number.
7) Group lunch. Excellent Indian buffet, at which I sadly overstuff myself to the point of discomfort. Stooooopid.

One more doctor to call - my orthotics are back.

I bet my boss thinks I'm going to get something accomplished today. My personal goal for the afternoon is to hold my stomach together by telekinesis.

If your doctor's office actually phones the prescription in within the next week, and without any further phone calls prompting/begging them to do so, you've got a better doctor than I do....

Heh. I am hoping that with the doctor out of town they're having a slow week, and thus will go ahead and do it out of sheer boredom.

Reason #3407 I never want to leave my doctor.
