Today I passed along some scented soaps to a sucker cheerful gentleman who lives not far from me. He wanted them for his twelve-year-old.
While he was in the house, of course I showed him my shelf full of stuff that I can't bear to throw away but want to get rid of somehow. He took two boxes of tea (kinds I no longer enjoy) and even snagged half a box of Raisin Bran (hey, I had guests who are now gone, and I don't eat cereal much).
Then, out of the goodness of his heart, he picked up all the cardboard I had lying around. He had mentioned that he was on his way to the recycling center. To top it all off he accepted a chocolate chip cookie on his way out the door. I was pretty impressed!
