There's nothing quite like being alone on Valentine's Day, especially if you're married and therefore can't exactly hope it will get better in some nebulous future.

(Yes, folks, the wild and crazy CJ shatters an illusion: my life is about as romantic as a balance sheet. Usually this doesn't bug me. Today, as it happens, it did. Those pesky emotion things! Overstaying their welcome again!)

Still, the day perked up as it wore on. My mom called. I got mail and an e-smooch from a dear friend. Rob called, but I missed it -- my bad karma bill must have been due. I spent a couple of hours playing with water and rocks and bowls, and have now created several nifty and interesting designs for desktop fountains (unfortunately they all use the same rocks and bowl).

I finally got out of my funk when a local couple picked me up to go to a square dance in, oh I forget the name of the town, an hour and fifteen minutes from here. Being around other people was just what the doctor ordered. Didn't get back until after midnight.

Happy V-day all. I go sleep now.

I just ignore Valentine's Day. February 14 is just the day after February 13, just like March 14 is the day after March 13.

It sure sucks. But I'm going to go buy some half-price Valentine's candy for myself. Chocolate always helps!

Oooo, I forgot the candy sales today! Heh heh, off to the store I go. :)

November 1 and the week after Christmas are also really good times for inexpensive chocolate. This year I got a bag of Milky Way Midnight (bite size) for half price because it had red and green on the wrappers. Mmmmm, love those Midnights!

I found some miniature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups at a small Giant Food (regional supermarket chain) in mid-January. They had red and green wrappers, and they were 75% off!! A bag that normally sells for $2.99 was 74 cents!

I bought five bags! =chuckle=

SCORE! That's excellent!
