I think I'm coming down with something. OK, OK, I know I am. I've filled half my office wastebasket with crumpled facial tissue in the past couple of hours. (No, it's not Kleenex TM, and I wish it were, 'cause this stuff feels like sandpaper. I think I'll go home to finish being sick. My Kleenex is better than the office's stuff.)
Friday: finished up some testing on a bug a coworker had fixed. Critical, they said. Couldn't wait, they said. So I took it over while coworker was away. Then looked around to see if I could check it in to source code control. Locks are on - I need permission. Well, couldn't find anyone. No one in, no one responding to pagers. Critical. Couldn't wait. Uh huh. I went home.
Saturday: FILED some of that frightening stack of not-so-time-critical stuff. The stack generated Thursday night was maybe six inches thick; it's now down to something like two. I gotta find a place for all the things belonging to "Miscellaneous". Also baked two pumpkin pies. Flew over to Auburn to see the house of our friends Mark and Tim -- why do we always go see someone's house just when they're moving OUT? Sigh. Stayed to watch the Leonids. Beautiful! But COLD. And sleepy.
Sunday: choc chip muffin breakfast (those guys are great hosts!), flight back, whipped some cream real quick, headed over to a turkeyfest at Chris's. That's what the pies were for. I expected eight people. Oops - four. Hm. Guess I will have a lot of pie. :) Then snackies over at my new neighbor Viresh's. (He's also my boss's boss.) His son is adorable. I think I would play better with him if I spoke Hindi though. He's talkative, but not much is in English yet. I brought a bottle of wine. Viresh had a less than wonderful wine-opening technology - much amusement ensued when he and I managed to shove the cork all the way IN to the bottle and splatter little purple wine drops all over the counter. How many engineers does it take... :-)
Watched "Shrek" with Rob. Went out for ice cream with Chris. He's about to go on vacation to the Virgin Islands. He and my sister, they should talk. They both do lots of vacations.
Took my temperature Saturday night. 99F. Hm - I'm fighting something but not fighting very hard yet. I hope I didn't give it to V's son. That would suck.
This morning, blowing my nose a lot more but don't feel feverish. May still be minor. Hope so. Still hope I didn't give it to V's son.
Lunch awaits.
