I scout yard sales while running, and if they're good, I come back with a wallet. Today's estate sale yielded:
- A slide rule, good condition, no case
- Two pretty candlestick holders, matched set
- A clipboard
- A soap dish that drains (and that goes okay with the upstairs bathroom, so I can steal the one that's up there to put in the downstairs bathroom, which for a year and a half now has been making do with a saucer)
- An ancient box of Dennison silver stars! I remember those!! (Purely nostalgic acquisition; turned out to be free)
- An alarm clock that works (guest room - replace the clock/radio that seems to go on strike intermittently)
- A 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle
Now if only I'd wanted some 8mm editing equipment, a VHS camcorder (yes, one of those huge ones!), assorted electrical (no, not electronic) components, or a 110 camera identical to the one I had as a kid... This guy was clearly a lover of gadgets. I sensed a kindred spirit. That makes my purchases all the more enjoyable. :-)
