Went to Helena Women's Health today and had my appointment with Dr. Metzger. Results:

1) Agreed probably NOT endometriosis. Not only did earlier surgery not show it, but I'm missing commonly associated symptoms and missing some of the most common locations of pain. Doc has my lapro video and will confirm this after viewing it.

2) Probing nerve-bundle places shows some tenderness, but not enough to recommend surgery for herniation. I've got a little of that, but not enough to explain my level of pain.

3) I probably have multiple sources of pain which interact. There are various ways to calm some of these things even without knowing what they are.

So, we're trying three things: dietary supplements to balance out some of the bodily chemicals that affect muscle cramping/relaxation, better prescription painkillers, and... drum roll please... continuous use of bc pills so I WILL NEVER HAVE A PERIOD AGAIN. (As long as I have access to meds, that is.)

Sounds pretty damned good to me.

If this doesn't work, we'll look further. But I'm hopeful. I may be able to join the human race *thirty* days out of thirty.

*crosses fingers* Hope this works!

Do watch for mood swings or changes on the bc pills, of course. But since you'll be in good care at Helena, I'm not worried that they'll miss something like that if it were to occur. Yay for no more stupid debilitating periods!!!

Woohooo!

Now why didn't I think of that? You're such an excellent candidate for using these meds to stop periods all together now that they can do it. Duh! I could have cured you years ago! ;)

Good luck, dear, and I'm so happy to hear you're working with someone who's got some ideas!
