Tuesday (before cramps attacked in any major way): ran 3 miles in 35:45.
Today: ran 4 miles, guesstimated by time (fifty minutes).
BOUGHT SHOES! GS, the mission was a success. Didn't get the ones they were holding for me; the obviously super-competent saleswoman said "you're pronating, try THIS one" and it felt much better. I was surprised at the difference in my, er, foot posture?, when running versus standing. Standing, I pronate slightly; running, it's dramatic. I'm glad to have good shoes. They were fiendishly expensive. Ten percent discount when I mentioned Bay to Breakers, though!
Also bought Neosporin-Plus-Pain-Relief goo. Took apart the blister-storm on my left foot; covered the result with goo and nice dressing with surgical tape all over it. Feels no worse now. The way my skin tends to go, it should be toughened up pretty well in two days.
