Ran three miles this morning. Am now missing a layer of skin where my bra's chest band rubs. (Want reduction surgery, dammit.) Cramps hit about a half hour ago, and I managed to crawl to the bathroom for Vicodin. Now I can walk but I shouldn't drive. That's OK, I don't want to leave the house without a bra, and I won't let anything touch my oozy ribcage.

Some days I just oughtta take an extra half-Vicodin and go back to bed, y'know?

Granted, the skin abrasion is partly my own stupid fault. I put an enormous Band-Aid on my sternum, where the abrasion is usually worst. The Band-Aid's smooth outer surface helped the chest band slide much more dramatically than it ever had before, creating big ouchy spots on the unprotected skin to either side. I won't try THAT again.

Hey, while I'm at it, I did another dumb thing: put moleskin on the growing complex of blisters on my left foot. Peeling that off made some changes to the delicate balance of things (oops, ouch) and left a layer of pink stickiness behind. Fortunately rubbing alcohol gets rid of pink stickiness, but it sure doesn't feel good in freshly opened blisters. I think that today my IQ -- no, make that "common sense quotient" if there is such a thing -- is somewhere around my shoe size.

Can I try today over again?

Writing Exercise: There is probably a way to make this funny.

Find One Good Thing Exercise: I'm very pleased with the pace. Here are the run stats, courtesy [livejournal.com profile] gs's watch:
1st mile 11 minutes (and perhaps a few seconds?)
end of mile 2: 23:20
end of mile 3: 35:45

Time to go do something requiring NO common sense and no operating heavy machinery. I'll do that, as soon as I figure out what it might be.

Ooch ouch hurt hurt! Damn. Sorry about all the raw spots. Do you have any sort of topical anesthetic that you could put on to help cut down on the stinging?

Hey, I'm on Vicodin today, too. I went to work, and gave up shortly after lunch. Needed painkillers!

And OWIE!! I hate how bras can attack skin. But I don't think you need reduction surgery ;-)

Let's see, no common sense, and no heavy machinery - play with the cats :-) Or send me email :-D

Ow ow ow. Sounds like your bra is simply not up to the task. *sigh* Try something smaller, so it CAN'T ride around? There's supposed to be a bra shop up in Richmond (?) that specializes in hard-to-fit sizes. I'm betting you qualify....
