"Carol": song of joy.

"Jean": A twilled cotton cloth. Oh, no, wait: as a name, it's Hebrew, meaning God is gracious.

"Smith": one who works with metal.
4. So what does your name mean when put together?
Whistle while you work? Worship while you whistle while you work? Maybe it's some nifty balance thing: hobbies/fun, worship/spirituality, and work.
5. What would you have been named if you were of the opposite gender?
I don't know. I have a younger brother David, so perhaps my parents would have chosen David for my name if I'd been a boy.
