Summer is here

Today I got my first sunburn of the season.

(I got it less than 48 hours after the equinox. I think that's some kind of record, even for me.)

It's your fair blonde complexion, I imagine. What were you doing?

Ayup. There's another trait oughta be out of the gene pool. Sheesh. Twenty-first century and we're still putting up with this sort of thing?

Hiking. Lovely day!

Well, I happen to think it's a lovely complexion, but then I have some cultural biases that way.

It'll be nice when someone comes up with simple melanin pills that people can take to adjust their skin color to suit conditions. But even the darkest people I know still worry about sunburn at times.

Why thank you. I like it too... on other people. (I'm like those people who like breasts as long as they don't have to be the ones to carry them around.)

You're right, a darker complexion isn't a cure-all. And I suppose if science were going to come up with something to help humanity, I might go for apomictic corn or an inexpensive AIDS vaccine or self-defense telekinesis for battered women before I'd go for melanin pills. Oh well :-)

Me, too. Park, beautiful, day, my sweetie's 3 year old playing. A sunburn in a good cause :-)

Sounds lovely! :-) I too had a good day, although no 3 year olds appeared in it.

Ouch! I try to keep sunblock in my car at all times, just in case I forget to put it on before leaving the house. 'Course, that wouldn't help if you didn't go in your car! But with my family history (skin cancer of several varieties), it's really important that I at least ATTEMPT not to get more sunburns. I feel for you.... *sympathetic smile*

Mine's in my hiking pack. The day was cold enough, and I had my jacket on enough of the time, that I just didn't think of it. Oops. Glad I had a hat, at least.

I figure you use the strongest one you can find, too, just like me? :-)

Yup. Pretty much I don't buy any with a rating less than 30 these days.
