1.2 mile run this morning. No pain, but tingles. What does that mean? Frankly, nobody knows. This includes my doctor.
Overuse injuries suck donkey balls. There's no way to tell for sure when you're overdoing it. Pain may start only after you've done some damage, sometimes hours or days after. Pain may not occur at all even though you've done some damage. Or you may feel pain even when you haven't yet done any damage this time around. And there is absolutely no way to recover strength and speed quickly: the more willing the spirit, the more likely the flesh will be weakened thereby.
I would rather have had an injury-injury. Those heal.
OK, my frustration level is high despite (slow) progress in the right direction. Frustration bad. I will self-soothe with a deadline I just made up: if at the end of June I cannot run three miles at a stint, three times a week, without problems, I will decide then whether surgery is better than this slow death of my hopes of fitness.
