My car was ready yesterday with its shiny new alternator installed. I believe this is alternator number four. I went to pick up the car, but it was worse than before!

Now I am told the car is ready again. They couldn't find anything wrong with it, and the warning light is off, this time for sure, they swear, cross their hearts.

If I arrive tomorrow and that light is on I will send a big envelope to the service department containing a swarm of flesh-eating insects. If I work it right, the insects will be carrying lots of red blinky alternator warning lights which they will drop down the service technicians' shirts just before devouring everything in sight.

Did two fifteen-minute organizational flurries today: bathroom vanity cupboard (very happy with results, eight minutes) and lower set of shelves in bathroom (so-so results, took two phone calls in the middle, 45 minutes). I think I might be back in the Sane About Stuff groove. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! 8-)

Work:

Company G called. I had to say no right away to that one. She, too, was gracious about it. Phew.

Pain etc:

Hiked today. Gawd am I a tenderfoot, after more than three months of no running and no hiking. It's awful. I WILL get back in shape, I swear it -- but first I have to get rid of the "neuromas" in my feet. Anyone out there ever had alcohol injected directly into a nerve, to kill it? Just how much does it hurt?
