The California Highway Patrol has helicopters up today. First time I've seen one since the Lycoming crankshaft recall that began (as a lowly Service Bulletin) in the middle of last August. CHP helicopters are (mostly? completely?) of the type powered by Lycoming turbocharged piston engines.

And yesterday we got the notification that Rob's engine has shipped. It should arrive within the week and be installed and airworthy a few days thereafter.

Yay! That's good news. Especially the part about Rob's engine shipping. (I mean, really, how have the two of you been doing since you've been unable to turn Rob's crank?)

*ducks*
