Kim just brought me outside to see a dead rat.
Specifically, the underside of the not-so-newly deceased rat. I'm not usually a big fan of maggot piles, but what got me about this one was the color and thickness of the slime coating the grass underneath. And the smell, yeah, that wasn't so great either.

We decided that section of lawn didn't need mowing right now.

Last year, late winter/early spring, there was falcon working its way through the local pidgeon population. We found 1/2 of one of its meals in our pool when we did spring cleaning. Yech!

Yuck! Fell right through the pool cover?

I almost wish this particular rat had gotten indoors so my cats could get it. Jackie in particular is a very tidy eater, leaving only a tail and somehow managing to keep the carpet clean. I am perfectly comfortable picking up after that.
