Cleaning out a freezer coated with the remains of nearly two boxes of Popsicles is a real treat.

I think the microwave is toast. Power surge? Haven't checked for an internal fuse yet.

It's good to have heat. It's also good to be able to run the record player. I'm practicing my singing calls for a square dance this weekend, and if we didn't get power pretty soon I was gonna have to do it in the office. :-)

Blech, how many days was your power out? Do you have a reason for the delay, yet?

When I was growing up in Redding, we got electrical storms a lot, and every storm knocked power out for 24 hours. Our system was fragile. But it was always up within 24 hours.

Four days. A branch (of a tree PG&E had been notified was looking like it needed trimming, and which PG&E declined to trim) came down and took out a line.

We were probably "up within 24 hours" too. Many sources (news, PG&E's phone menu system) were insisting that there were no further outages, but what that really MEANS is that there were no big ones. Isolated stuff like me and my next door neighbor doesn't count. Barf.
