Layoffs might be tomorrow. Hmmmmmm... maybe I won't have a job Thursday morning! But maybe I will.

I would really like to get out of here, and I'd like to take any severance package I'm offered, but it's probably a bad move to tell my boss I'm volunteering. Bummer about that. I'd rather be able to be upfront about it.

Thanks! I hope we find out soon.

May things work out for the best for you and I hope the layoffs are humanely done. The company I'm at had layoffs in June and took ALL day to do them, stressing everyone out!

(I wouldn't mind a layoff myself, I'm dreading going back to NYC after maternity leave.)

Yeah, we're all stressed out here just because we don't know when it will happen and who will be let go. I don't even know if the product I'm working on will be continued; you can probably imagine how little work I'm getting done.

I bet it's a bit more difficult for a company to decide to lay off a woman who's on maternity leave. But either way, I hope you don't have to go back to NYC any sooner than you are comfortable.

Thanks. I wish I knew whether the product was going to be continued or not. I don't care a whole lot about my specific work this week or this month, but the product as a whole, well, a lot of people put a lot of years into it.

*nods* I understand completely.
