Reminder to self: Don't work out without some food! Yowza!

Patrick's created a regimen that will get my knees ready for a very small (5K) run. Since I'm not stopping the weight training, I'll be in the gym six days a week. Sigh. I don't WANT to have to work this hard just to avoid damaging my knees! I want to be like all the lucky people, who don't have to work at all!

(It occurs to me that for my own happiness, I should quit hanging out with lucky people. I'm too prone to comparing myself with them. Bad habit, CJ. Hey, does this mean I should find someone whose knees are really messed up and ask THAT person to run the 5K with me, so I feel better? Ha! That's been my role in the lives of most folk I know so far: I'm sure my very existence has boosted a lot of egos. But it's just horrid when I turn it around and think about consciously seeking that out myself!)

Anyhow, I'm proud of myself for trying. I'm doing what I can, even if sometimes I have to work a little harder than the next guy, and in some ways, I feel pretty good about that. But yeow. Waking up an hour earlier EVERY MORNING. Ugh.

Gawd I'm hungry.

CJ...

Reminder to self: Don't work out without some food! Yowza!

guess I am the designated "reminder for those who forget to eat" today..have done that a couple of times today.

Agreeing with [livejournal.com profile] wcg a 5k is not a small thing...we did that at the "How to be a..." course I took in 2000.

Yeah, I forgot to grab a Balance bar on the way out the door this morning. Oops. I bought one from a vending machine at the gym, but that didn't leave much time for it to hit my bloodstream! I will remember next time.

I'm just grumpy that 5K is smaller than I "useta coulda" done. Grump grump grump. Must find ways of recognizing that I am an okay person even if my body is gradually becoming less capable.
