Over the weekend I planted a teeny tiny garden! Rob had a great idea: since the reason I had been wanting lamb's ears so badly was that they were "pettable", he thought I should put in only plants that were fun to touch. I now have a small plot by the front door that includes Meyer's asparagus and four little splotches of lamb's ears. I would have added snapdragons -- they're interactive, if not soft to the touch -- but they want full sun.

Rob and I also planted various big pots with handfuls of flowers and greenery in contrasting colors. I liked the set that had mums, cyclamen, purple alyssum, and dusty miller.

But I like my small plot best. Now if only I can keep it alive; it's not on any of the irrigation systems nearby, and lamb's ears wilt pretty quick if they're thirsty.

I'm proud of my teeny little garden! :-)

Oooooo. CJ, can I come over and touch your garden?
I have a need to get close to nature.

Idea for addition to garden: sensitive plant. Don't know Latin name, but you touch it and the leaves fold up. It's lots of fun!

wink wink nudge nudge? ;-) Seriously though, you are welcome to!

Yeah! I've loved those things since I was a kid. Relative of the mimosa, that's all I know. I've been looking for one -- with my luck it will need full sun or something.
