Rob likes that I consider someone's word to be important.

As with the compliment about liking animals, this one feels very good because it is about something I value in myself. I try to keep my word and I try to give credence to what others say as if they keep their word, too.

Happy CJ.

(smile) which is an indirect compliment to others, IMO.

So that's why he likes it - he's being complimented! ;-)

Seriously, yes it is. The downside is I can get very easily frustrated by people who don't live up to it. There are times I've wished I were more immune to that frustration.

Frustrated by your expectations of reciprocality, of equivalent consideration by others... it is hard sometimes for me to let go, and maintain my own sense of responsibility even when the other party (-ies) aren't doing so. Being immune to that frustration, and not tempted to act on it. To not embark on a "race to the bottom", so to speak... just because a given partner (or recently, a work colleague) isn't functional or behaving responsibly isn't justification for me to match them tit-for-tat...
