That makes some good points that deserve a LOT more exploration. I'm very much a Heinlein fan and there is no doubt in the world a lot of my thought is shaped by his writings.
Those flaws in how we treat real people are incredibly valid.
I agree that those flaws are valid and that fiction can shape our thinking (sometimes not for the better). I wonder how much damage has already been done and how it can be mitigated.
Showing it personally = yes. That's a thing I'm working on as well.
Systemic problems are often a thing I not only can't fix but can't even have a hope of influencing in the most minor way. The only action I'm left with is making my own tiny corner of the universe a little better by my own individual choices. Ultimately, my own choices and actions are all I've got control of anyhow. I choose to, to the best of my ability, use them for good.
