Fun Stuff

A new snapdragon bloom just open enough to be "snappable"
Cool minty-ness
A bright moon late at night, lighting the way to the car
A kitty who curls up and sleeps next to me
Sleeping in
Palm Pilot e-mail
Minty-ne... oh, I said that
The ability to purchase things online
Someone to bring me lunch

Do your snapdragons talk?

Have you noticed that the shorter snapdragon varieties don't snap well? Only the tall ones do.

I haven't thought about it. This is the first bloom on the first snapdragon I've ever had. I guess they might talk if I'm in the right mood.

Mine are the tall happy-to-snap kind. Yay. :-) :-)

A few days ago I watched my son, through the back window, carefully playing with our snapdragons, just the way you showed him. It was a very sweet moment. Thank you.

I like minty-ness too. The smell, the taste, the tingley sensation. I especially like peppermint and wintergreen. I've got peppermint and spearmint plants around my house; I only planted a couple, but they're spreading like wildfire.

I immediately got a clear mental picture of him snapping the flowers open and closed. I'm inordinately pleased that he was amused by that. :-) You have sweet kids.

Mmm, peppermint, wintergreen, spearmint. Minty-ness on the chest helps with congestion. Here's an odd note: I've noticed that [livejournal.com profile] jackiecat really LIKES the smell of minty-ness on my fingertips. Maybe related to catnip? (Catnip is often called "catmint", though I don't detect any real minty smell to it.)

Wow, I never knew snapdragons actually snapped. Are they also actual dragons?

That part depends on how grown-up and withered your imagination has gotten :-). But they do indeed snap. Put a thumb and forefinger on opposite sides of the bloom, about where you'd think a jaw hinge might be if the flower's horizontal crease were a mouth. Press gently - and the mouth opens! :-) I love doing that.
