I am now SITTING IN THE HOT TUB DRINKING CHAMPAGNE. This "quitting my job" thing feels awfully darn good.

(Bittersweet, yes. But also good. Very good.)

Thank you! It’s terrifying, because I don’t have a new job nailed down yet and one major reason for quitting the old one was that I couldn’t live on what it paid me. So finances are quite stressful. But there were other reasons to quit as well, and just the knowledge that those will get better is huge.

Ah, yeah. Finances are...complicated, and job hunting is (I am convinced deliberately) a pit of suck.

It's been a bit over three years since I retired. (31 Jan 2016) Haven't run out of things to do yet. The dog loves it.

That sounds idyllic! My finances are such that I will never be able to retire. But getting out of this one - and thus being able to focus in earnest on the search for the next one - is huge.
