Now that I'm studying Spanish:

¿ ¿ ?
¡ ¡ !

(I'd also love to find a check-mark.)

Hat tip to this reference page.

Now that you're studying Spanish, be sure to go to Hulu and check out the SNL skit "La Policia Mexicana".

¡Que bueno!

Welcome! (Male answer syndrome, I can't help myself. On the other hand, I now know my next major lobbying effort, I think Unicode needs an asshat symbol. *grin*)

Hey, in this case I was as good as asking the question. You don't have to ding yourself for MAS this time. :-)

And yeah: it does!

I just head straight for the List of XML and HTML character entity references, though you have to dig into general Unicode resources to find things like a check mark (under dingbats).

Ooo, thank you!

Oh nifty -- thanks. Glad the other poster had the check-answer for you -- I went hunting through my fonts (I know that the same alt-sequence produces a check in some fonts and a something-else in others) but hadn't found it.

I have several pages that I use for alt key symbols:

http://www.mesweet.net/altkeysymbols.html

http://www.britfeld.com/aboutme/alt.htm

http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/altchrc.html

Thanks! I'd found several sources in my brief search, but none of them are particularly comprehensive. These links are good to see.

<Alt>-0191 and <Alt>-0161, respectively. Memorizing that was a sight easier than thrashing round looking for entity charts.

Wow, you must use them a lot more than I do. :-)

I'm in Texas--we have occasion. :)
