Again, I think that whether it's legislation, whether it's new technology, whether it's challenging Betamax, whatever it is in the video marketplace, we're going to have to find a way to protect copywritten material or there will be less of it made or it will not be made available in windows where it's not protectable and that's not good for consumers, so there's got to be some way it's protected.

daltong and I got our TiVo boxes. On our list of reasons why it was:
1) Being able to set up the "Season Pass" for shows we would actually sit down and watch (vice my channel surfing for the best of the worst)
2) Skip commercials
3) Being able to watch what we want when we wanted.
4-10 (Tie) Skip commercials
Hmm see a pattern here.
(Oh I the way I have been feeling about it is that I maybe watch a bit more TV than I normally would, but it is stuff that I actually get something out of (West Wing, Sportsnight, Trading Spaces, Tracks Ahead..and a few Star Treks for those..hey I am bored times. So I feel my watching is more efficant...I am TiVo, you will be assimilated)
