Winter quarter class schedules are up, so I'm looking at the days and times for the next class I need in each series: physics, biology, and chemistry. These are the standard three series taken by every student wanting to go on in anything health-related. I've got a few buddies who are in exactly my three classes this quarter. (One aims to be a physician, one a physical therapist, one a marine biologist, and there's me).

There is exactly ONE section of physics 2B offered, and that one conflicts with EVERY POSSIBLE section of biology 6B.

*sigh*

That sucks! Wouldn't you think by now the folks in charge of scheduling would understand this situation and plan accordingly? Oops, that's implying they care. You need someone to sit in on one of the classes for you, take notes and give a debriefing afterwards. :-)

Heh, yes, that would presume they care. I do intend to go ask the two departments about it. In particular, I'll tell the physics department that I'd love to take physics but can't, and I'll mention that I know others are in my situation, and I'll see what they say. The answer may be as simple as "the schedule isn't complete yet" or "hey, thanks for letting us know how bad that is, but no promises". If it does turn out to be intractable, I'll take Spanish or something.

but definitely worth asking!

G'luck. When I had a conflict in HS (Spanish 2 met during the hour I had Chem labs twice a week) I got the teacher to agree to let me attend the 3 days I could, as long as I kept up. At University, I couldn't take Russian 2, so I ended up doing that intensive over the summer, taking R-3 during my sophomore year. Your solution sounds much better -- I hope they tweak the schedule.
