1. If you could build your house anywhere, where would it be?

Someplace with the natural beauty of British Columbia, the politics of Alaska, and the climate of, well, just a bit cooler than Silicon Valley -- some snow in winter. Oh, and near a runway.

Oo, alternative answer: Right next to the teleport machine.

2. What's your favorite article of clothing?

Ummm... I'm not too attached to clothing... A biggish T-shirt with the words "Bad Attitude" and an airplane attitude indicator showing an inverted descending turn.

3. What's your favorite physical feature of the opposite sex?

Only the opposite sex, or can it be a feature I enjoy in both sexes? I'll assume the latter. Probably eyes. Followed quickly by lips, hands, butt/legs, and oddly enough, eyebrows. I don't know what it is with me and eyebrows. I find myself loving the uniqueness of people's eyebrows.

4. The last cd that you bought?

A $2.99 collection of choral works "digitally remastered from the original audio recordings". Yes, it's very bad quality. But it has Avinu Malkeinu and a couple of bits from the Messiah and some other really cool stuff on it.

5. Your favorite place to be?

Yosemite, probably.

6. Where's your least favorite place to be?

At the business end of a medical needle.

7. What's your favorite place to be massaged?

My breasts. (Well, you asked...) And scalp, and shoulders, and butt.

8. What's most important, strong in mind or strong in body?

If I had to pick, mind. But I don't have to pick. :-) :-)

9. What time do you wake in the morning?

Ideally, 8am or 9am. Lately, six.

10. What's your favorite tv show?

I don't do television.

11. What's your favorite kitchen appliance?

I don't cook any more. When I did, it was probably the electric mixer.

12. What's your favorite childhood memory?

I don't have one specific moment that's a favorite; this answer is more of a general theme. My favorite childhood memory is of the travel we did as a family -- camping out, mostly, and the trip planning we all did together.

13. What/who makes you laugh?

Earthy jokes, especially those about bodily noises. Aviation humor. Steven Wright. Dave Barry. Diane DiMassa. Rod Machado.

14. What/who makes you really angry?

Cruelty, insensitivity, selfishness, lack of awareness. Almost everything in politics. Bigotry.

15. If you could play any instrument what would it be?

Harp. But I'd probably choose to improve my skills on something I already do play.

16. Favorite restaurant/cafe/eatery?

Crepe Daniel, perhaps. I have lots of favorites though. Almost any Indian restaurant... Bella Vista, up on Skyline... Mandarin Gourmet, in Cupertino... the Melting Pot, in North Carolina... La Fondue, in Saratoga... the Aegean, in Framingham MA... Mary Chung's, in Cambridge MA... Toscanini's ice cream, in Cambridge again... Gelato, in Mountain View or Palo Alto... any good greasy wildly-unhealthy pizza place, eg Campus Pizza in Cambridge...

17. Scariest moment of your life?

Off the top of my head, probably not being able to stop in time for the end of the runway. At an international airport no less. Thankfully, no harm done.

18. If there was a movie made about you, what current/former Hollywood star would play you?

I don't do Hollywood. I guess whatishername? Katharine Hepburn, would be really cool. But that's answering a slightly different question: who I'd want to play me.

19. Do you believe in afterlife?

Yes, but my thoughts about what form it takes change frequently. And I don't have any strong belief that my individual itentity would survive.

20. Favorite children's book?

Harold and the Purple Crayon. Here, again, lots of favorites.

21. What is your favorite season?

Back where there are seasons, fall! winter! um, all of them! :-) Here, probably "spring".

22. What is your least favorite household chore?

Cleaning the litterbox.

23. If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Teleportation. No, telepathy! Aaaaaaaaaaa!

24. If you have a tattoo what is it and where?

None.

25. Who was your first love and at what age?

My first crush was a guy named David in my fifth grade class. My first real love... well, hey, define love. I think I'm still working on my first real love. I live with him today, and have for over a decade.

26. The song you wished you had written?

I wrote a few. They weren't anything great. :-)

27. Do you prefer cats or dogs?

Cats -- but I like both, quite a bit.

28. What's in the trunk of your car?

Spare tire, jumper cables, toolbox, chains, oil, fluids

Aware.

32. Sleep: pajamas, t-shirt, sweats, or naked?

Naked.

33. Who is your personal hero (living, dead, or fictional)?

I don't have any specific one. Gandhi comes close, as does Paramahansa Yogananda.

34. What makes you happy - thinking about the past, the present, or the future?

Yes. :-)

Some things in the past are wonderful to think about. Some are painful. I have both fears and hopes for the future, too. The present I don't think all that much about, I'm just IN it.

35. What do you fear?

Needles, falling, violence, loneliness, inflight breakup of an aircraft, eye surgery...

36. What is the most memorable Christmas gift you have received?

I'm having trouble coming up with one single thing.

37. What is your favorite school subject?

I used to love math/science. In a way those were the easiest classes: there was one right answer. I am now a bit more flexible; I'm more willing to enter areas where there are zero or many right answers.

Hi CJ,
I think I've been to one of the restaurnts you mentioned in Framingham. Is it a Greek place on Route 9? I think its neat that you have favorites all over the country!!Also, how come you don't cook, do you eat out all the time?

Yes! It's in a little strip mall, and it has blue and white -- oh, I know lots of Greek restaurants have blue and white on their signs. Anyway, I like their avgolemono soup and a few favorite entrees. My parents like that place so when I'm back with them, we sometimes go there.

I do eat out a lot, and I also eat things that don't require cooking - I guess I don't count zapping something in the microwave or slicing bread and cheese as "cooking". I also sometimes just don't eat. It's a whole lot easier all round. Then Rob yells at me for letting my blood sugar get low, 'cause it makes me grumpy. (sheepish grin)
