Last night I dragged my tired self into the house and thought that I really did not want to deal with any of the possible dinners I had lying around. As I've thought a few times since this whole thing started, I figured a big greasy nasty bag of microwave popcorn was more my speed.

Quoth [livejournal.com profile] rfrench: "If tonight's when you take the Fluconazole, then you get one for free, right?"

When you put it that way....

So a big greasy nasty bag of microwave popcorn was exactly what I had.

Unsurprisingly, I felt fine this morning, except of course for the ever-present insomnia-related fatigue.

If you like popcorn and want to have microwave popcorn that's (1) cheaper and (2) not covered in greasy nasty fake butter, consider getting this. (I bought mine at Target, or "Tar-zhay" as we like to call that fine French boutique.)

Seriously, for under $10 plus the cost of popcorn (2 lb bag of Jolly Time: $2, number of servings: many) it's well worth it. I add various Penzey's spices for flavoring.

There's exactly one brand of greasy nasty fake butter I like, and oddly enough, I do like it. I honestly didn't know why one coworker said microwave popcorn tasted like candle wax until I tried Orville Redenbacher after it had cooled for about 40 seconds. Holy moly, she's right! But for zero effort and zero cleanup, Pop Secret is pretty good.

O'course, your solution wins both on cost and on ability to adjust serving sizes. :-)

"Tar-zhay"

The first time I heard that used it came from the guy who ran distribution of the company's products in Europe. He was French. And he totally was going for the humor. ;)

air-popped popcorn, a stick of butter, melted, blended with italian seasonings, topped with parmesan cheese = HEAVEN.

i remember when a bag of micro popcorn was dinner. ah, youth. *sigh*

I remember, too. Ah, two months ago. :-)

Okay, to be fair, it was usually a bag of microwave popcorn and a glass of wine.

does popcorn call for red wine or white? ;-)

i'm glad that you're not having horrible reactions to your food experiments. 'cause they suck (says the woman who has eaten crap for the last four days and is paying for it). on the other hand ... dammit, why does this have to be so complicated for you?!?!?

Popcorn calls for either a crisp white or a lighter red (pinot noir rarely disappoints me). Man, I hope my feet start getting better pretty soon, or I might just ditch this whole concept!
