Best I can tell, I had a Normal Person Weekend. This presumes Normal Persons have friends, hobbies, chores, plans, and two days off work.
1) Birthday dinner for a new friend. Much fun! I met several people whose LJ handles I promptly forgot (oops). (Later I started to worry that I underpaid. Somewhere I will find a way to make up that karmic balance, or else buy a dinner for the woman who plunked down her charge card. Yo, charge card wielder, if you are reading this: I owe you dinner.)
2) Cleaned up some of what the cat did. Rob cleaned up the majority of it, because my arms hurt, and I am very grateful to him.
3) Trip to REI. Rob and I outfitted ourselves to pull an all-nighter sitting still outdoors at Glacier Point.
4) Wine tasting for twenty-five cents at BevMo. Well, ok, twenty-five cents and the eight bucks I then spent on a surprisingly nice bottle of Pinot Gris.
5) Birthday BBQ party for a different friend. I enjoyed seeing several people (and one dog and one lovely landscaped backyard) I hadn't seen for AGES.
6) Laundry, darks. I meant to do laundry, lights&whites but I wasn't quite out of socks yet so I'll do that tonight.
7) First flight in a Citabria in years. Man, I love simple planes. Man, I can't land a taildragger for $#!+. Note to self: do not quit flying the airplane when the wheels touch! DOH! Can't believe I've been in tricycle-gears long enough that I made such a basic goof. Note number two: next time, seat cushions. My legs are Not Long.
8) Helped people-who-were-buying-our-dining-room-table carry smaller stuff out to the truck. Remembered to throw in the extra fabric matching the chair upholstery; remembered the extension leaves for the table; remembered to throw in the tablecloths.
9) Los Altos Art and Wine Festival. Very hot. Mild sunburn. Bought one thing - a stand for my wood flute - and got it home only to discover I mismatched it, oops.
10) Pored over real estate listings for an area we might move to some day. I am trying to imagine what it would be like to own my home outright. I think what it would be like is a different career with no more 80-hour work weeks. That would be very cool.
11) Read a book.
Life does not suck.
