I've gotten very rusty at just plain C1 workshop-ish class-ish calling. Granted, it's tough to walk in and call for a group who's half way through the list and you haven't been the one teaching; the whole "what can/can't I call here" takes over a huge percentage of cognitive function. But that's not all of it. I simply haven't done it in a while and it shows.

Well, on the bright side, that's an easy thing to find out once the dance gets going. If you call something, and everyone looks at you strangely and all the squares break down....well....they haven't learned it yet! LOL!

Welllll, some people dancing had already learned C1 before, so oddly enough some of the squares might have managed. Maybe boos and hisses would provide a good reminder for me. :-)

That's almost a no-win situation knowing some of the San Fran dancers, unless you have the Mike DeSisto gift of being able to muddle through most anything and make people leave with a smile and think they had a quality experience. :-)

Speaking of Mike, I should find out how he's doing. Anne U announced at convention that he was having bypass heart surgery about 5 weeks ago...

I didn't know that! Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for him. Bypass surgery can be such a life saver, but the recovery is no picnic.
