Oh boy.

Looks like I might get to go to San Diego again! Tomorrow, since the next flight out this afternoon won't get me to the offices there before the end of the business day today.

I... I'm just so excited! Words cannot convey my happiness!

Not only that, but you just can't hide it, either. Please accept my sympathies:

"Take heart amid the deepening gloom
That your dog is finally getting enough cheese.

And reflect that whatever misfortune may be your lot
It could only be worse in Milwaukee."

(Yes, this poem/song is pretty much my philosophy of life. That should explain a great deal.)

Heh, yes. That's pretty much it, all of it. :-)

If I didn't know better, I'd say you were being sarcastic. I'd accept that but I've never known you to be anything but serious, pragmatic, and positive.

Oh, I'm never sarcastic. Never. ;-)

Turns out I probably won't go. The guy who might possibly have been able to help isn't in the office tomorrow anyway.

Yes indeedy. I'm tired!

Those words would have to mean the opposite of what they meant. Those words are hard to come by...

:p

Good luck, try to find something to enjoy down there...

Thanks! Looks like I won't go after all; the guy I'd be looking for is out of th office tomorrow.

Hey, I thought of you the other day when I was at the wine&cheese tasting course. A guy from a winery was handing out "free tasting" tokens. I thought perhaps you'd be out this way again some time, and I snagged an extra for you. It's Beauregard, the one on the wharf in Santa Cruz. Can't beat the view.

Yay! Yummy! I hope I get to try it soon. Thanks!

You sound positively.... Thrilled, Not.
Glad it got called off.
Hopefully they will fix it before you need to get on a plane.

I sure hope so. Thanks!

That wallows in lameness!

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yes it does. It wins the booby prize of lameness.

This is related to the technological hurdle I mentioned yesterday as having the potential to kill the project. That hurdle is all about what software is running on a specific phone. Thursday, we asked some folks who had borrowed our phone to please put the latest software on it before returning it to us. We waited and finally got the phone today. It didn't have the latest stuff. They musta forgot. We can't upgrade a phone; we don't have permission, and all the tools are proprietary. So either I go to San Diego, which is the nearest place that has the magic power, or we wait another couple of days for FedEx to get this phone out and back someplace.

Because somebody forgot.

Lame.
