Rob says I slept fourteen hours last night. I've been eating pretty much nonstop since I woke up. Boy was I happy to take a shower this morning, too. Life's looking quite a bit better... if only I'd stop being so HUNGRY.

I'm taking the entire weekend off. Of course, what this means is I get to write a gargantuan pile of C4 choreography, taking occasional breaks to get my info together for the tax accountant. But I did take the opportunity to do dishes this morning. I know I've been overworking when I'm really happy about that. Also, the most nutritious thing left in my kitchen is some ice cream.

Time to pull my life together. Ah, it feels good.

Thanks for chatting with me early in the morning! That really helped.

Thanks! It's always better after dawn, and way way better after some sleep. :-) *hugback*

Yay for sleep, food and a warm house! I'm glad you're taking the weekend off, and that you're starting to feel better!

Yay, sleep.

I still think that 'taking [nights/weekends] off' is a contradiction in terms. Nights and weekends are nights and weekends. Being off is entirely appropriate.

I'd go batshit crazy if I had to work more than a 40-hour week, though . I don't know how people do it. I don't know if I lack the drive, if I don't love my job enough, or what, but even for significantly more money than I'm currently making I just can't imagine being able to do it.

Yay indeed!

Eh, startup. I already am batshit crazy (and to be perfectly honest I've been "burned out" for about fifteen years now). It's amazing what I can do when I don't see any alternatives I like better.

Thanks! This was my first all-nighter in... oh, years. Probably since the time I pulled one to rewrite task-switching completely in our multiprocessor OS, and around ten in the morning the source code control database got corrupted (or did we lose a disk?) and lost all checkins past 2am. (That was a bit of a bummer, I'll admit, but work like that goes faster the second time around.) That was maybe 2002 or so. So I shouldn't be all whiny about how horrible it is to be me. :)
