What we're up to

I don't have to write updates! ;-) And I get to eat at WAFFLE HOUSE tonight. Those will always remind me of my days in Officer Basic Course in Augusta, Georgia. Mmm, WAFFLE HOUSE. Heart attack on a plate, and you always come out reeking of smoke no matter where you sit, but ah, those hash browns... and the memories.

mmm, Waffle House. eat a mess of scattered/smothered/covered hash browns
for me, will ya?

sorry to hear you're (getting?) sick. sending you lots of vitamin C and tea and brothy soups.

Scattered well, for me! Mmm!

Thanks. I'm so full of Vitamin C I think my skin is going to be orange and pockmarked. Here's hoping this is over quickly!

Feel better VERY soon! The analogy to caltrops in your throat was QUITE frightening.

Thanks! Ah, yes, I was trying to think of some way to describe this without being... very off-color. :-)

Yummy, I love the Waffle House heart attack special (bacon AND sausage AND eggs AND hash browns)

Here is my favorite favorite:

3 eggs scrambled w/ cheese, kinda well done
Hash browns scattered well
1 waffle

MMMMMMMMMMMM. The cholesterol and fat special!

You were at Fort Gordon? I probably knew that and forgot it (much like all of C4 basic :-) ). I was in Augusta a couple of weeks ago visiting my family. I'm glad you enjoyed eating at Waffle House -- it's not my first choice. But then, neither is Wife Savers...

I sure was. Is there still a Hilton just a few minutes off base, sharing its parking lot with a Waffle House? That was my billet until they had BOQ space for us on base.

Not that I'm aware of, but it's been years since I've been to that side of town. You probably wouldn't recognize the area. Gordon Hwy has been widened, the old gates to Ft Gordon were remodeled and at least one new entrance added.

Wow. Change keeps on sweeping through places I once knew. I suppose it's been fifteen years!

Mmmm, WAFFLE HOUSE!!! *envy*

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2006-12-31 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! It's such basic "bad" food and yet I love it. Dinner tonight came to $8.31 (for both of us, of course).

Yeah we have as many Waffle Houses as highway exits (sometimes one on each side of an exit). I like IHOP better though.

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2006-12-31 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
IHOP certainly has better quality fare. WH is something I neither grew up with (in New England) nor have now (in California), so its greasy plates are a particular treat. So far, this year, we have been spared "Waffle House Christmas" on the jukebox. :-)
