Pie's done and packed up in a homemade cardboard box, clothes and calling eqiupment are packed, fixins for whipped cream are packed, kitchen's clean, computer gets shut down any minute now. Off we go for southern California. We get T-Day dinner at Carrow's, and on Friday we start calling a square dance that runs until Sunday.
I discovered this morning that all four burners of my electric stove are completely dead. (The thing has power. The little "hot" warning lights go on. I suspect an internal fuse. Too bad I'd need a blowtorch to open the power compartment.) There I was with a pile of chopped peppers and a bowl of eggs. I then discovered, much to my bemusement and relief, that it is possible to cook scrambled eggs in a microwave. They weren't the best scrambled eggs I've ever had, but it was food and it had calories in it and it was safe to eat.
OK. Off the computer now.

If you had the blowtorch, the lack of working burners would be less of a problem.
