Dawn looks stunningly pretty through this much mist. It looks like the cover of some book about sorcery. A giant witchlight hangs on the horizon, little tendrils floating around it, with some trees silhouetted in front. I wish I'd had a camera with me, but I know I couldn't have captured it anyway -- even if I hadn't been driving full tilt down Central. Oh well. I'll just have to remember it.

You're already at work???
Good on ya for catching the sunrise, though. I love dawn.

There sure isn't much else to do at this hour! :-) Plus the commute at 6:30 is WAY WAY better than the commute at 7:30. At 7:30 the schools are about to open. I have a large one in front of my house -- there's no way out except straight through Hell. Not only does every child need a separate car, even siblings, but the drivers are all sleep-deprived and coffee-dependent and haven't had their infusion yet. (8:30 is better again, and 9:30 is a bit thick but at least not full of coffee-dependent zombies.)

How 'bout you? Are you at work at this hour??

Nah, I'm playing catch-up on the Blackberry. Cleaning out Spam, that kind of thing. Of 34 messages on my work inbox, only 2 were actual messages. Of the 32 pieces of Spam, about a third had 'loads'. The Blackberry is far less susceptible to trojans and viruses than the laptop, so it's easier to do a first pass purge here.

I very much need more coffee. I read your first line and thought "Who is Dawn? One of her cats?"

Mmm, that sounds lovely. And you describe it so well.

I love sunrise and sunset. We get some beautiful sunsets here, but sunrise there did beat all, coming thru the usual layer of clouds...

Nice! You've got it set up so that deleting on the Blackberry deletes on the mail server? (Rob has his Treo set up that way too -- supposedly -- but it doesn't work.)

Hee! I also have someone on my friends-list named Dawn. :)

Thanks! It was so peaceful -- not many other cars out on the road, everything in the world starting to go from gray to "there will be color in twenty minutes", and this beautiful soft nimbus of yellow hovering in the clouds. Made it look like the Sun was, oh, at flight level 330 rather than eight light-minutes away.

Both of 'em are so much prettier when the air's not clear. The *rest* of the day isn't, but mmmmm, the sunrises and sunsets!

The Blackberry is set up so that I have my choice of deleting at the server or the handheld--so the spam, it goes.
Unfortunately it does not work the same way with my personal email--not sure why that is, something to do with the server set-up I'm sure. It will delete, but it ends up in the trash instead of deleting at the server.
Weird. I just don't have the skill set necessary to figure out why.

I suppose going to the trash is better than nothing at all. At least you don't have to sort it twice.

Nice image--thanks. You should put it in your novel. ;-)

Thanks. Everything is grist for the mill!

My flight out of SJC took off at 6:30 Friday morning. During the runup, the pilot came on the radio and told everyone on the right side of the plane to look out the window at the full arch brilliant rainbow. It was amazing. And my electronics were all properly stowed in the off position by then.

Aw, darnit -- no, I didn't! Even if you didn't get to take a photo of it, I'm glad you got to see it. Having the memory is worth a lot.
