I Need a Project

I've been pretty unmotivated and bored lately. At work, we had layoffs a week ago, and some of the most interesting people are gone. More (including a couple of my real friends) are being transferred to other locations early next week. It's hard to feel good about buckling down and getting to work when all these people are leaving. In my personal life, Rob (my husband) has been in Germany for about a week and a half. Our housemate is on an odd sleep schedule so I don't see him much. And I just realized I can't even introduce the other important person in my life in a public journal entry, but I can say that person is pretty busy at the moment. So I'm adrift.

I think I need a project. Something positive, something challenging, something that isn't a waste of time when all is said and done. Maybe a way to help someone who needs help, or make the world just a little bit better in some way. Ending world hunger is probably too big to tackle; cleaning the house is too unimportant; I'll be trying to think of something in between.

Whee, my first journal entry, and I'm a whiner! :-)

Yay! Ceej is here!

Journals are for whining! :) Geez, sometimes it seems like that's all I do in mine.

Welcome to LJ, sweetie-pie!

Hi Kimberly! Thanks for the welcome! It's fun learning my way around here...

Projects!

CJ, be careful what you say, I might recruit you to help me with a project!

Hey, I'm glad to see you here on LJ -- it's a nice community. I don't participate much in the community aspect, but I love writing in an online journal and reading about my friends' exploits. You are officially added to my friend's page.

And, hey, if you can't whine in a journal, where can you whine?? I don't know HOW many entries I have with the subject line: "My ex-husband is an asshole!" Kimberly has MUCH more creative subject lines than me!!!

Welcome!

hee hee hee... I cheat on the subject lines - I mostly lift them from song lyrics.

Yeah Wen, sign me up! I wish we lived closer so I could volunteer to help you move or something.

Would you be interested in working on a mission statement for the list? Regina was going to work on it but has gotten busy...

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I'd be the wrong person to do it. I'm kind of cynical -- I'll explain more in private e-mail. I'm bummed that Regina doesn't have time though!
