Idea of the day

Rob: "Everybody's dunking their dogs in this heat, huh."
CJ: "And Mary's dogs don't even LIKE water."
Rob: [typey typey, reading wunderground and METARs]
Rob: "We could go sit in the hot tub and cool off."

When I was pregnant, we didn't heat our hottub (bad for babies) and I used the cool tub to cool off.

We keep ours at 103, but the air's a lot hotter than that today.

The cool tub it would be then. :-)

Right. We heat it only to 103. Sadly, nature has probably taken over and finished the job.

At one point the Byron AWOS reported a temperature of 47 degrees with a density altitude of 3,400 ft.

It was too hot to sweat.

The record in the immediate Bay Area today was 43 at SQL.

The highest I found in CA was 48 at KIPL.

I can just report what I heard....

Sorry, I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm sure Byron was hotter than the immediate Bay Area. I can't get historical AWOS values easily. I was just adding more data to the misery.

Ah, okay (it is entirely possible, you see, that I was hallucinating. The heat makes one's brain do funny things).

Hopefully the hot weather breaks soon -- it was altogether pleasant driving to SFO this morning though. Of course, it was 4:30 AM....

We've been tossing ice cubes to Katja. She leaps on them with delight.

They must have the ball nature!

[identity profile] ambar.livejournal.com 2006-07-23 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's more because they have the crunchy cold nature. :-)

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2006-07-23 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, well. :-)

DJ's just decided that now that the temp's dropped below human body temperature (the sun set), it's time for a cuddle.

She's . . . warm.

I can only imagine. Yeow.
