Flight of fancy

Jeppesen Low Altitude Enroute Charts make great sewing pattern drafting paper.

I would've made them into paper airplanes, myself.

Just for the ironic metaconceptual value.

There's enough left over to do that. VFR charts are even better for paper airplanes: thicker paper. :-)

Just don't try to plan a flight on a Simplicity pattern. ;-)

Heh heh. "Do you have the terrain in sight" takes on a whole new meaning.

Heh! "Maintain visual contact with the terrain, descend at pilot's discretion." OK, now I am 100% certain to be giggling next time I hear any of this in an airplane.

Ah, the power of humor on association. :-)

Wrapping paper

In December, the pilots' store at PAO often gives away old VFR charts for use as wrapping paper. Stock up!

That's cool! I've used old VFR charts to wrap gifts (for my brother, seriously into flying) but I hadn't heard of any place giving them away with that in mind. :-)

And it is so cool when you do that. :)
