Things I learned at lunch today

Today I learned not to go out on my lunch hour and, on a whim, get a haircut. I spent the rest of the afternoon with little bits of cut hair in my shirt.

Now my ears are cold.

This is a hard-won lesson, I'm afraid.

Yes indeedy. Think I should bring earmuffs to work tomorrow? ;-)

It's interesting watching you learn hair things that I think are second nature -- but obviously are learnt from experience!

Funny thing is, I've HAD short hair. A LOT. Just not recently! I "knew" the bit about the hair itchies, from watching Rob go through it. Now I know, in the sense that next time I'll have a spare shirt.

Yep, I know what you mean. How easily we forget. This is why women sometimes have more than one baby. ;)

And, on the other hand, I've NEVER had hair this long before. Every other day, I'm planning when I'm going to chop it all off. Then, of course, I think "but it's never been this long before!" and I wait... The Berkeley Wrap helps me want to keep it long for a while. I'm still looking for someone to wrap the top, no luck yet, unfortunately. Though a friend of mine who has had one herself offered to give it a go!

You could always give it a shot and if you and your friend don't like the results, you could pull it back off. (Time-consuming but possible?)

Right! Things someone who's had long hair for years wouldn't know!

*nod* Just like that little shrug o'the shoulder that keeps the ponytail out of the litterbox is something a person who's had short hair for years wouldn't need to know. It's a whole different world! :-)

I never cut my hair unless I'm on the way home, so that I can go have a bath immediately. Hate the feeling of having little bits of hair all over the place.

The really cheap hair cut place around here is open starting 10am -- well after I'm at work -- and I think it closes quite a bit earlier than I go home, too. I'll just bring an extra shirt next time. (At least work has a shower, if it's really that bad!) :-)

I've only had a Monk's fringe for so long that li'l bits'o'hair are but a memory, for the most part.

Colour me with beautiful blond hair bits envy!

Man, I wish I could get away with a Monk's fringe. I suspect it wouldn't look quite right on me though. ;-)
