Amazing how much I've got done, though I wish I'd done twice that. I always feel pressure to get non-work stuff done on weekends. I only have two days, these two glorious days, and anything I don't get done has to wait another week.

- Lots of decluttering.
- Went through a month's worth of mail, paid bills, etc.
- Wrote Team in Training (fifth paragraph) a polite little note saying "cut it out". Declutter my inbox! Yay!
- Ate my way through the fridge. It's in pretty good shape now.
- Ordered some clothing I've been badly needing, but have been too lazy to shop for. Three cheers for Web access and for not needing to try stuff on.
- Laundry. Dishes. What the cat did. Prescription refills. Personal e-mails that had waited a few days.

Still to do:
- Skim my third USB book. I have it only for the weekend. Yipes.
- New user icons with short hair. Oh, [livejournal.com profile] joedecker...

And hey, I have a cat on my lap. Life is good.

Hey, gold star to you for fine progress! Now if only I can catch that productive decluttery bug too....

I LOVE it when I'm in the right mood to declutter. If I'm not quite in the groove, every single useless piece of crud will get me fighting with myself over whether I should or shouldn't pitch it. If I'm in the groove, bang! That goes, that goes, that goes!

I remember once (once!!!) when I was having a seriously major neatening/cleaning frenzy, with extra positive motivation inspired by a new visitor scheduled to visit my place (this was around 1990ish, ~4 apts ago). Even at my best, I don't usually get to that level of frenzy, so when I started sneezing at the nasty dust I'd stirred up (I'm rather strongly allergic to dust), I shrugged and said "this is a once-in-a-decade-level cleaning frenzy, so I'm gonna milk it while I can". And I kept cleaning, for about 24 hours. And I sneezed more and more and more. I was ultimately sick for 10 days from that frenzy!

So, now, if I get into even a minor frenzy, if I'm actually "cleaning" (i.e. disturbing the dust), I force myself to wear a dust mask. Ohhh, I hate dust masks!

I suspect I let my dust allergy be yet another excuse to not clean. Yeah, it's real, but it can be dealt with. But, doesn't take much, i.e. almost no excuse, for me to avoid cleaning/decluttering.

I lost my best excuse when my abdominal pain started getting under control. Granted, when it was bad it really WAS very bad and cleaning would make no sense whatsoever. But now it's not often up to a level where it even makes a reasonable excuse. :-)

Thanks! Every so often I have a completely inexplicable good mood. This time I *used* that mood! :-)
