Your reasons for growing yours long are all reasons I wanted to keep mine long, too. It was the easiest-care hairstyle I ever had. It cost zero money on products, zero time with a blow dryer, zero time and money in hair cut places, zero shelf space for brushes and pomades and mousses and all that crap. It was perfect for me. But if I'm going to swim I really have no better choices right now.
