Hmm, I didn't get anywhere near the number of comments you did when I cut my hair! But then, going from 2" to 1/4" isn't quite the same :-)
I know that it's hard, but try to focus on the positives: someone will have some nice hair because of you, and it
will
help you get some exercise.
(And, they say that it will grow back)
But, also, feel free to bemoan the inevitable/unavoidable to your friends. That's what we're here for.
