Rob: Was that you or the dog?
Me: Yes.
Pause.
Rob: Was it you XOR the dog?
Me: No.
Rob: Was it you AND the dog?
Me: Yes.

If Randy were a computer geek, that's PRECISELY what he'd do with me. The only difference is normally it's Randy being exceptionally literal, and me having to find the correct logical question to produce the answer I'd originally intended. Excepting computer/electronic logic terminology, that's precisely what randy does to me all the time.
Allan: Randy, could you please hand me the stapler?
Randy: Yes, I could.
Allan: *sigh* Randy, please hand me the stapler.
Randy: Which one?
Allan: *sigh* *sigh* Randy, please hand me THAT stapler. NOW.
Randy: (Hands over stapler without a moment's hesitation.)
Recently, Randy's been finding great amusement in my turning the tables on him.
Randy: Allan, could you hand me the wooden spoon from tne counter?
Allan: [smugly] What's the magic word?
Randy: [darkly] Now.
Allan: [cheerfully] Nope! Wrong magic word. Try again?
Randy: [straining his voice only slightly] Allan, could you PLEASE hand me THAT wooden spoon from THAT counter, NOW?
Allan: [very cheerfully] I sure COULD, dear. Just as soon as you ask me.
Just because Randy's a car geek, doesn't mean he isn't a [logical] geek.
