The Jackiecat catnip & chamomile stories are most enjoyable. :)
I don't think I've ever had a cat who has smelled chamomile & reacted to it like catnip -- but they just may not have had the opportunity. I did once have a (b&w) cat, Star, who reacted to Bounce Dryer sheets & Flexall 454 residue like it was catnip... all rubs & rolls on the area of either scent. (Once she got too close to a dab of actual Flexall 454 -- that was NOT good, too strong, much foaming and annoyed rubbing as it created a burning sensation on her tender nose. Thankfully, she recovered ok.)
I thought about putting the above comment over on jackiecat's catnip post (linked above) but my brain is too tired to figure out how to word it to address it to her about a cat who is no longer with us. [Star lived to 16 years old. She was quite a hunter of birds in her lifetime, a natural, considering we fostered her from early kittenhood (she was found in a box in a field) without a momma cat to teach her to hunt.]
