I haven't yet succeeded in getting New Balance shoes that are wide enough, either. But two people now have said I should be able to (indyansel is a EEEE width in NB, and my doc saw my feet and said I probably don't need to go custom quite yet). So I'll give 'em another try.
When I was a little girl I wanted to find a doctor who would be willing to cut off my little toe, and take away the metatarsal and shave down the cuboid, so that I could fit into shoes. Little did I know how right I was that that's how bad my feet really were.
