Feet and Exercise

As expected I walked way too much at the square dance convention. Our room was far from the elevators, so checking out on Monday evening (round trip to room, round trip to car, round trip to Advanced hall for Rob's room key) cost me my last tip with Kikuchi-san (foot budget exhausted). Oh well. I am flared up now, but only on the right foot and not seriously, which means I'm learning. Go me!

I also swam every single day. Now I know why people do it. The hotel pool was comfortable! Seriously - it wasn't excruciating to get into it. It wasn't even BAD to get into it. I was impressed. As for the actual exercise, that was humbling. My record: five laps. (Yes, you can laugh now. I know it's really just relief that you don't have to live in this body.) Fortunately, I feel like I'd get better quickly if I kept it up. And the lovely bonus of swimming was that my feet always felt terrific 'cause I wasn't standing on them.

MRI tomorrow morning and Friday morning, one foot each.

5 laps isn't bad. It's about where I started, and I used a kickboard. Someday when I win the lottery/marry a rich man/get money dumped on my lawn I want an indoor lap pool. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm swimming!

I don't use a kickboard, although I suspect my arms would be equally tired either way. Holy moly I have no upper body strength! :-)

An indoor HEATED lap pool.... mmmmmmm, now you're talking.

A couple of the Y's have indoor heated lap pools. And they are devine! My fav's the one downtown.

I should see whether there's a good one near me and what the membership fees are. (I find it very weird that the web page refuses to tell you. Come in and ask, they say. O-kaaaaaay.)

Ahh. It may behoove you to shop around the different Y's. 'Cause some are more expensive than others, even though you get to use all of them in the valley. I know ours for a family membership costs 74 per month. Its cheaper for a single person. and I also know that the above mentioned downtown Y costs more than mine (south valley)

HTH

Good thought! Thanks!
